  • Application Description
A pivotal moment in human history took place when we shifted from hunter-gatherer tribes to settled societies. The time has come for your tribe to settle down and form a nation. In this critical time you have risen to become the leader of your people. As leader you must make the decisions that will either guide your people to greatness, or lead them to ruin. Will you create a peaceful society focused on science and commerce? Will you build mighty armies to force your opponents into submission? Will you be a benevolent leader loved by the masses, or will you play the role of despot and rule with an iron fist? Do you have what it takes to build a civilization that can stand the test of time? Test your abilities and find the answers to these questions by playing GrogSoft's Kingdom.
    Updated Description:

Important: Installation of the 2.7.8 version of Kingdom will erase any saved games as well as your current game. Note however that there is no need for you to delete anything yourself. Simply install this new version on your device and the update will happen automatically. Units now have the ability to move in random order as well as stack on top of each other. The unit graphics have been modified to create a higher contrast unit image. The map now has two new display options. The first is an "edging" graphic effect on the tiles at the edge of the known world. The second map display option allows the drawing of partial hexes at the edge of the displayed map. Both options are on by default. The majority of the terrain graphics have been changed. Comments and feedback on the new terrain graphics are welcome. The scroll bars have been completely reworked. The price of Kingdom will be increasing from $14.95(USD) to $19.95(USD). The change will go into effect with the release of the version subsequent to Version 2.7.8. Get Kingdom at $14.95 while you can!

I give this four stars, because it's so far the best Civ Clone out there. Apparently great service and I'm so glad that somebody is working on this. But one should defintely know that this is NOT a complete clone of the original.

I miss the ocean units and the ability to build flying units, or world wonders. Without the railroad, it seems like the whole endgame was eliminated and it just comes down to who gets armored units first. Nukes without transport is a bit strange too. Also - I miss the ability to talk to the other nations, or steal cites with diplomats, etc. Lot's of the fundamentals are there, but a lot of the later techs, terrains and units are conspicuously missing - but then again - it's called 'Kingdom,' not 'Civilization.'

It's a great first start, and so far the best I've seen. Keep it up. Can't wait to try newer and expanded versions.

In a nutshell, it's Civ for the Palm. And it's a pretty faithful version too. All the things you want to see are there - city management, tech tree, terrain, combat, huge maps.

What more could you ask for? Civ was the most addictive game ever, and this is the same - and fortunately it doesn't eat battery power, so you can play for hours on the train.

Customer support is the best I've ever come across - I emailed the yahoo group a couple of questions about future development, and got a reply within 24 hours from the author, with a screenshot of upcoming features! How responsive is that?

If you loved Civ, you'll love this. Not everything has been converted yet, but it's all coming. v2.7.8 is amazing already. v3+ will be perfect.

Excellent game and very addictive - I had to give up playing for a while as it was interfering with my studies! Support is great and I'm very glad to see that this is still being actively developed. The replay value is astonishing - after 100's of hours, I'm still not bored at all! Well worth the price, IMO.

I loved civilization and I love this game. I'm not always around my computer so this is a great way to get my "fix" while I'm on the road. Very detailed, logical and playable. You'll play this game over and over!
